A major Buddhist festival at the Marble Mountains; celebrating Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara with prayer sessions; lantern floating on the river; and art exhibitions.
Chol Chnam Thmay
📍 Mekong Delta (Soc Trang; Tra Vinh)
The Khmer New Year. People splash water on each other for luck; build sand stupas in temple courtyards; and enjoy traditional Apsara dancing.

📍 Nam Dinh
Honors Mother Goddess Lieu Hanh; one of the Four Immortals. Famous for the 'Hầu Đồng' (spirit mediumship) ritual; a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Lễ hội Chùa Thầy
📍 Quoc Oai; Hanoi
Honors Monk Tu Dao Hanh; the ancestor of water puppetry. The festival is famous for water puppet shows performed on the Long Tri pond in front of the ancient pagoda.
Giỗ Tổ Hùng Vương (Hung Kings Commemoration)
📍 Phu Tho
A national holiday honoring the Hung Kings; the legendary founders of Vietnam. The main ceremony involves a grand procession up Nghia Linh Mountain.
